As a cathartic exercise, I usually end up researching these companies, attempting to call them back and speaking to their true 'legal' owners, demanding they give me information about their contacts database, how they got my number, who supplied them with a CD-Rom of illegally harvested contact details. I usually end up harassing them as much as is possible within the bounds of the law (or rather within the bounds of the levels of human decency they operate on). All, of course, to no avail... I feel your pain. (Okay, maybe that was insensitive…)
